BIOBASE™ POLYCARBONATE SHEETS

Polycarbonate Sheets Using Bio-Attributed Feedstock

Take the lead and become an inspiration for others. With BioBase technology, we can conserve fossil fuels and reduce our carbon footprint. By mass balancing, we provide our global partners with high-quality polycarbonate products attributed to renewable feedstocks. Join us on the path to carbon-neutral polycarbonate products that meet consumer demands and sustainability expectations. Secure your projects with our high-performance products. BioBase products are equal to conventional polycarbonate products with identical quality and properties.

WHAT IS BIO-ATTRIBUTED POLYCARBONATE FEEDSTOCK?

We use renewable hydrocarbon feedstock to replace fossil-based raw materials. BioBase bio-circular materials are obtained from waste and residue sources. Among these are used vegetable oil, processing wastes, and residues from the food industry.

BioBase sheets provide identical physical, mechanical, thermal, optical, weathering, and processing properties as standard polycarbonate products.

THE MASS BALANCE APPROACH

The mass balance approach is about tracking feedstock quantities from multiple sources and allocating them to specific products.

Tracing of renewable feedstock may not be possible when they are processed along with fossil-fuel-based feedstock. Thus, renewable feedstock must be attributed to an end-product in a transparent and auditable way. With the mass balance method, we can overcome these challenges. A detailed, verified accounting system tracks renewable feedstock quantities and assigns them to a specific production batch. As a result of this approach, fossil raw materials will gradually phase out, creating a chemical industry that is based on converted materials.
